In January 2020 we started working in collaboration with the local physicians who do maternity care and formed the Sunshine Coast Maternity Care Group. This was to solidify the team involved in maternity services on the coast, share call and improve what we are all able to offer.

You will see your primary care provider for all prenatal visits in your pregnancy. There will be opportunities to meet all the care providers at group meetings where there will be informal discussions and a chance to answer questions you might have about how the group functions. For the birth, you will be attended by one of the 6 of us (2 midwives, 4 physicians), along with our incredible nurses and any specialists that might need to be involved. Talk to your midwife if you are planning a home birth. After the birth, your primary care provider will resume your care and do all your postpartum visits.
